Half-human, half-ghost (but definitely a Yokai).
The last of his people,
Living for so long, yet looking so young.
Precocious, even.
Bridge between humans and spirits,
Unfortunate that he can never experience being human.
Reborn after death,
the boy's father nurtures his son as best as he could,
despite his small size.
Gods, he tries.
Teaching his boy how to survive,
the ocular father tells him also
of the spirits that lurk in human blindness.
The boy misses his mother,
for that she died before bringing him to this world;
and the father, his wife.
